Book Cover Project #01 - One True Loves
As part of both my creative outlet and a way to (kind of) slow down the consumption of books, I decided for 2022 I would start a graphic design project where I design alternative covers to the books I finish this year. The first book of the year is One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
Cityscape Locker Hooking (with FREE Pattern)
Shortly after discovering Locker Hooking through The Crafter’s Box, I have fallen completely in love. I started with the trivets, and moved onto “mug rugs” (aka coasters), and finished off with the add-on kit to do a larger rainbow wall hanging. It’s so relaxing to sit and work on a big project and see the progress right before your eyes. Definitely instant gratification!
YOU - Sewing Inspiration
Now that I am COMPLETELY obsessed with garment sewing, I can’t help but think of patterns that match the costumes of my favourite shows. As I was watching YOU (on Netflix), I was struck by how many costumes sparked inspiration and reminded me of some gorgeous indie patterns.
A new decade, a new direction

How my small business helped me through loss
October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, and October 15th is recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. In honour of this, I am sharing a little bit about how running a small business helped me through one of the hardest seasons of our lives, after we became members of a heartbreaking group of mothers and fathers grieving the loss of a baby.
