From the moment we found out we were pregnant, I knew I wanted to do a gender reveal party to discover the sex of our little Baby Fournier surrounded by family and friends. What could be better than hosting a party, cutting into a cake and discovering what our little bundle of joy is going to be when we meet it in September?!

We had friends and family come from near and far (but mostly far, since we moved to the country last summer) to celebrate with us, and we couldn’t have asked for a sunnier day to celebrate our little baby with everyone. Unfortunately, since I am still pregnant and have all the lovely side effects that come along with cooking our little bundle, I wasn’t able to do all the things I pinned, but the day was wonderful anyways, thanks to my sister-in-law who generously kept our secret and baked us the most beautiful cake.

I would have loved to have done a coral and navy blue themed party, but our budget was tight as we save for baby, so we opted for the traditional pink and blue theme that was easily available at the dollar store. We made a ton of great food and even had some family members bring some dishes and dessert as well. Overall, it was a grand success! Everyone went home with a belly full of food after discovering what I was cooking up in my belly!

The best part about the whole party was not knowing until the day of. We had asked the ultrasound technician to write the gender down on a piece of paper and put it into an envelope we had brought with us, which we then showed my sister-in-law via FaceTime while we closed our eyes. She kept the best secret ever, and didn’t even tell her husband until we had cut into the cake ourselves to see.

 We had a feeling it was a girl, and apparently so did the rest of my family. I had painted clothes pins for everyone to wear their guess and only one of our friends took a blue pin. We could not be happier to discover our little bug is a girl!

This little girl is already so loved! I couldn’t imagine finding out any other way than how we did. This definitely beats reading it ourselves on the piece of paper! Now off to the store to buy all the cute baby girl things!
