On my bookshelf this Fall

This past month and a half just flew by, along with a lot of my books! Still no library card, although I will try my best to get there this weekend if possible! October booksThe commute is going well, although lately I have been closing my eyes more than reading! For those of you who are much better at staying awake with a book in your hands, here is a list of what I am reading this month:The Clifton Chronicles by Jeffrey Archer | If you read my bookshelf post in September, you will know that I started reading this series out of order and before I knew it was a series. Well this month, I started from the beginning and it is SO INTERESTING now that I can actually follow along with the story line. I highly recommend these books and can't wait for the next one to come out. If you can get your hands on a bunch of them at one time, DO IT! It's like having a Netflix binge party, but in book form! All Inclusive by Farzana Doctor | This book was sent to me as part of the Afterwood Reading Society book club. It's run by the National Post and is a great program. This particular book was by far one of the most unique books I think I have ever read. I offered a review to the book club, which you can read more of here. All in all, it was an interesting read, but not for everyone. I suggest at least trying it!Brain on Fire by Susannah Cahalan | Wow. Just wow. What a great book! This is the story of a woman who got very sick and is a full account of her time in the hospital and in recovery. She is a journalist, so as you can image, it was very well written and such a great read. I finished this one in 2 days and think that everyone should pick it up. It's a heavier read but knowing she is the one who went through this and then wrote about it makes you really appreciate the story. The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo | This book has been making its way around the crafting/scrapbooking circles, and so I had to pick it up to give it a try. As a book, it's a very quick read, but this is much more than just a book. It's a way to completely overhaul your life. It takes time, effort and energy to get through the book and to actually do the things she recommends. I read the theory part, and then booked off a week from work to tackle the practical part. I look forward to sharing more once I have the chance to really dig into the content and tidy up the house! So this month was much busier than September, but I can already feel November slowing down. I do have some good books to share with you and can't wait till next time.At the Fournier Farm HouseWhat are you reading this month? Any recommendations you can share? I will be (hopefully) getting my library card soon and am already making a list!
