A guide to the Crafter's Christmas Wish List

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas shopping is on everyone's radar, and if you're unlike my mother-in-law who has already completed her shopping and wrapping, gift guides are a great way to go to find the perfect ideas for the loved ones on your list.I thought I would join in on the fun this year and create a gift guide for all the crafters in your life. If you're not a crafter yourself, navigating the aisles of Michaels, Fabricland or other boutique crafting stores might be a little more than overwhelming. Lucky for you I am here to help. Below are all the things on my wishlist (nudge nudge, Will), and would be great ideas for those on your list looking to fill their craft room to the brim with supplies and tools.

For the scrapbooker:

I had the best intentions to start my Project Life album for our first year of marriage, but we're now three months in and I still have yet to print a single photo! This would be the answer to all my problems and would kick my butt into gear. No more procrastinating for this gal! Not only is this printer perfect for printing photos, but it can be used as a family or home office printer too! This can be purchased directly online at Epson.ca.2. Blurb Photo Book Gift Card | Amount of your choosingScrapbooking is super fun, but can be time consuming and isn't always the right fit for certain projects. I would personally love a Blurb gift card to make our engagement, wedding and honeymoon albums. I don't fully trust myself to scrapbook these projects the way I want them, and it's nice to be able to have an online book you can reprint for friends and family whenever you want. Blurb gift cards can be purchased at Blurb.ca.3. Silhouette Cameo Replacement Loading Mat | From $12.86My Silhouette Cameo loading mat has taken a good beating since I first got it. For the scrapbooker in your life who has one of these fancy machines, this is a great stocking stuffer idea, especially if you purchase it with your Michaels' coupon! Mats can lose their stickiness over time and can get quite damaged, depending on how much it's used and the types of things you're cutting. This is definitely something on my list this year. For the DIY-er:

1. 100% Hand Made silicone soap molds | $2.29 eachIf you have a DIY-er in your life, chances are they are interested in making their own soap. I personally have purchased all the supplies I need to start making my homemade soap but have yet to find the perfect mold, until now that is. I think this soap mold is super cute and is a great stocking stuffer gift. The only downside would be that you have to buy more than one, because chances are you won't be melting down and making soap just to fill one mold. This mold is available online at Amazon.ca.2. Letterpress Card Workshop at the Graven Feather (Toronto) | $65, including materialsI have always been interested in letterpress, so the idea of going to a class and learning how to make your own cards really interests me. I think this would be a fun girls' night activity and would a super experiential Christmas gift! Graven Feather has a lot of great workshops for the DIY-er, but this one is a personal favourite and something I'd really like to try. For the Sewer:

1. Heat and Bond | $10.98Heat and Bond is a perfect stocking stuffer for any sewer. I personally want to try some sewing projects that includes heat and bond, but have never actually bought any for myself. This is a great idea for a sewer, because there are so many great projects out there that use heat and bond. This specific one is available at Walmart.2. Custom fabric labels | $46.61My Grandma always had "made with love by..." labels when I was growing up, and I think they are definitely a must for any sewer who is gifting their creations to friends and family, and especially if they're selling their products. Etsy has a wide variety of customizable fabric labels available, depending on your budget, the quantity you're looking for and the material you would like them made out of. These labels come with a variety of options to choose from and would be a great gift for the sewer on your list.3. Sewing classes from the Make Den (Toronto) | Prices vary*The Make Den is a cool place in Toronto that offers a wide variety of sewing classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced sewers. They also offer specialty courses for leather making, garment sewing and open studio time. For beginner sewing fundamental classes, classes are $160+HST for a 4 week course of 2 hour classes. This gift idea is perfect for the sewer of any skill level, and is something Will and I have already gifted to each other. For the knitter:

1. Thick wool | $13.99Who doesn't love a thick chunky scarf in the winter? Knowing a lot of knitters and being one myself, I know that it's sometimes hard for knitters to purchase something they know they can make themselves. For me, it's chunky scarves! I can't think of a knitter who wouldn't want to find this in their stocking! Go for the gold and get some thick needles to go with it! Supplies can be found at Michaels.2. A cute knitting bag | $12.82How cute is this knitting bag? I actually might have to get one for myself. Not only is it super cute, but the drawstring at the top is practical for traveling, so you won't lose a needle or a stitch! As you might have guessed, this bag can be found on Etsy.And there you have it! A wonderful list of things to get for any type of crafter in your life.
